Professor Daphne Flynn from Monash University gave an excellent demonstration of the complexity of healthcare. She also prompted us to consider that a design for health endeavour is not simply about the intersection between two disciplines, but also about the intersection between academia and industry. She moved from differences… to similarities… to opportunities.
Daphne is Director of Monash University Health Collab, a design for health and wellbeing lab at Monash University. She works to encourage collaboration between university researchers, industry partners and medical groups. Her Professor of Practice appointment is underpinned by a broad industrial experience working in design consultancies and businesses from small to medium enterprises to multinational corporations in South East Asia and Europe.
